The blind traveler alone will overcomethe largest salt desert

Yesterday, July 17, the blind French teacher Albar Tessier, recently
arrived in Bolivia, began a single hike through Uyuni –
the world’s largest salt marsh. For the whole week, until July 23,
a man will go about 140 kilometers using only the “speaker”
GPS Navigator.

Our hero plans to travel 20 kilometers a day, and this
hard test even for a sighted person. Desert temperature
will be only from minus 3 to plus 20 degrees Celsius.
The Frenchman has been preparing for this for about 2 years, but he admits that even
the hardest workouts can’t be compared with a real journey.

According to Albar, he intends to demonstrate to the world that people with
limited opportunities are also capable of impressive actions
and records. First of all, he wants to prove it to his students
who are also blind: from birth or not. Tessier himself
completely lost his sight only a few years ago, due to
diseases, and this campaign became for him a huge incentive to continue
experiencing craving for life.
