On the night of September 13-14, the asteroid Bamberg will approach the Earth at a record close distance. Its appearance in the visibility zone of our planet is expected at about 4 pm GMT. The asteroid, with a diameter of 230 kilometers, can be observed with binoculars in clear sky.
The distance from the Earth, according to scientists, will be 120 million kilometers.
Discovered in 1892 by the Austrian astronomer Johann Palise, the asteroid Bamberg only once every 22 years fits into an observable position.
