A small comet became visible on the LASCO C3 coronograph going towards the sun. On the image for August 19, 07:42:05 UT, in addition to the comet, the star Regulus is visible from the constellation Leo, and also Mercury:

Such near-solar comets are called Kreutz comets. Surely this comet will burn in the sun, although there have been reverse cases.
