Every astronomy lover will undoubtedly admire the satellites of the red planet called Phobos and Deimos. Their non-standard colors and unusual shape simply cannot leave anyone indifferent. However, scientific discussions have been going on around these tiny celestial bodies for many years. And it seems that experts still managed to determine the principle of their origin.
The dark surface of the moons makes them very much like asteroids. Some scientists are of the opinion that these bodies are in fact asteroids, which at one moment fell under the gravity of the red planet. However, experts in the field of orbital dynamics note that the nature of the motion of these objects, as well as their angles of inclination, do not correspond to this hypothesis.
Experts who work with advanced technologies have determined that most likely the satellites of Mars appeared as a result of a collision of a planet with a large asteroid, after which several pieces of solid rock were thrown into space. This fact is confirmed by recent studies on Phobos. As it turned out, it emits the same thermal radiation as the volcanic rocks of the Red Planet. But the characteristics of the radiation of asteroids, the indicators of Phobos are absolutely different. Skeptics point out that if such a scheme for the emergence of satellites were true, then in any case there would be a place on the planet after this catastrophe, because the impact from the asteroid should have been an unthinkable force.
