Cosmic radiation can support life on other planets

The life of alien creatures can be supported by cosmic rays, – such conclusions were made by American scientists from the Space Institute in Seattle in the course of recent research. The theory arose after the discovery of a special type of bacteria on Earth and the assumption that life in the Universe, and its intelligent representatives in particular, may be very different from humans.

Moreover, experts reported that the alien mind may not only be different in appearance, but have completely different needs. So radiation, which has a destructive effect on terrestrial creatures, can be absolutely necessary for the life of alien inhabitants. That is, the absence of a protective magnetic shield on the planet, like the Earth, is not yet a reason for including it in the list of uninhabited ones.

The reason for this is the microorganisms Desulforudis audaxviator, which can live in water bodies at a depth of more than two kilometers without any negative consequences. These bacteria do not require light, oxygen or carbon – they are able to exist only through the assimilation of nuclear energy, which is released by radioactive uranium and cosmic radiation. The assumption that such organisms can exist on other planets gave rise to such far-reaching conclusions.
