Lisle police officer Jim Dexter in the United States was not so new to astronomical observations, as he was regularly on duty at night. He has already seen an accidental shooting 'star' or lunar eclipse, despite the fact that he mainly became a witness and participant in the prevention of what is called 'strange behavior of animals and humans'.
Early Monday morning, Dexter was on a routine patrol off State Highway 88 when he saw a 'giant green ball of light' flying across the sky. Moreover, the camera installed in his car recorded this phenomenon. The policeman reported this to the other officers by radio.
Shortly thereafter, the US National Weather Service released a video of a meteor that lit up the skies across the Midwest around 1:30 am.
The American Meteorological Society, which monitors meteor showers, said there were over 380 reports of sightings of the falling object on Monday.
'The fireball was particularly prominent in Illinois and Wisconsin, but there are witnesses from Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Iowa, New York, Kentucky, Minnesota and Ontario (Canada) who also reported the event,' community statement on their official website.
