Hubble Space Telescope reveals signs of mysterious black hole

Unexpectedly for everyone, astronomers have found strong evidence for the existence of a previously elusive type of black hole.

It is believed that finding medium-mass black holes is almost impossible. However, the latest data provided by the Hubble Space Telescope reveals the missing link in the evolution of the black hole. Here is what Dacheng Lin of the University of New Hampshire, the principal investigator of the new discovery, said:

“Medium-mass black holes are very elusive objects, so it’s important to think carefully and rule out alternative explanations for each candidate. However, Hubble has provided us with the information we need. '

These black holes are difficult to detect because they are smaller and less active than supermassive black holes. Gravitational pull is also weaker, which means they are less likely to 'notice' stars consuming energy.

According to a study published in the Astrophysical Journal Letters, this black hole has a mass of 50,000 times that of the Sun. This work complements NASA and ESA data based on the 2006 X-ray flare detection.

Black holes are regions of space that exhibit such strong gravitational attraction that even light cannot escape from outside their boundaries. The gravity is so strong that huge clumps of matter end up in a small enclosed space.
