Kepler awakes: NASA spacecraft is ready to hunt again

Today it became known that the well-known telescope called Kepler woke up after the next stage of sleep and is ready to continue its mission. Recall that this unit helped scientists discover more than two and a half thousand planets, which made an incredible contribution to modern science.

The cost of the mission is currently estimated at six hundred million dollars. The device first went into space almost ten years ago. His main task was to search for new planets. However, in addition to this, the device was able to study and identify more than one hundred and fifty thousand stars. The telescope went on for four years, after which it lost its amazing ability to quickly navigate space. A year later, scientists managed to solve the problem, and the telescope began its next mission.

At the beginning of this summer, it was decided to put the device into sleep mode so that it could collect enough fuel and be able to reorient towards the Earth. The mission was successful, and the device returned to life at the end of August. However, NASA experts noted that one of the engines in the device does not work correctly, as a result of which it is not possible to determine exactly how much fuel is left on board. Specialists continue to monitor Kepler.
