Representatives of alien civilizations will communicate with Earth by 2040. This opinion is shared by an American scientist, an employee of the Research Agency for the Search for Extraterrestrial Civilizations SETI – Seth Shostak. He announced this at the NASA conference on innovative concepts, which was held at Stanford University.
“We're going to do some research and make contact with aliens in about two decades. We will monitor perhaps millions of stellar systems, 'said the scientist.
Shostak also noted that in our Galaxy, perhaps, there are billions of exoplanets with suitable conditions for life. And if life is found on one of the planets, and the level of its development is equal to that of the earth, then an electromagnetic signal will be sent to representatives of an extraterrestrial civilization. True, the scientist admits that aliens can get in touch first.
The astronomer's statement is based on material transmitted by the Kepler orbiting telescope, specifically designed to search for exoplanets.
