NASA's new 'hunter', TESS satellite captures first sky

Today, information appeared that the innovative NASA satellite called TESS received the first extremely important data that will allow scientists to uncover many secrets about exoplanets, their formation and development in the future. In addition, with the help of new information, specialists will be able to identify previously unknown exoplanets, and beyond the framework of our system.

One of the most important data was a photograph of the southern sky, which was taken with a modern camera installed on board the aircraft itself. Experts note that the TESS mission will become one of the most significant in recent decades, as it will open up new promising celestial bodies for study. And the first picture clearly demonstrated the enormous capabilities of the device, which prove its high potential in the implementation of a program to search for planets similar to ours.

Note that the new NASA mission should spend two years in orbit, regularly conducting sky surveys in search of new planets that pass close to the stars. For the coming months, the satellite is tasked with monitoring thirteen zones of the Southern sky at once.
