Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin posted this information on his Facebook page. In the coming years, a robot equipped with artificial intelligence may become one of the members of the International Space Station (ISS).
The robot was developed by a specially created Fund for Advanced Technologies with the support of RSC Energia im. Queen. The android received the Russian name 'Fedor' according to the English version of the project's name – Final Experimental Demonstration Object Research (Final Experimental Demonstration Object Research).
'This machine has technical vision and independently chooses the optimal solution to the task set by the operator. During its execution, the operator does not control the machine. But if necessary, the robot becomes an avatar and at a distance of several thousand kilometers can accurately copy the actions of the operator. Actions or even mental commands, 'said Dmitry Rogozin in a comment under his publication.
It is planned that this android robot by 2021 will become one of the passengers in the manned transport spacecraft of the ISS and a real assistant for astronauts at the orbital station itself.
