The dramatic night eruption of one of the largest volcanoes in Mexico was filmed live on camera. It is noteworthy that this is the third eruption of Colima volcano in January.
The Colima volcano is located in western Mexico, 80 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean and is the most active volcano in the country. The height of Volcan de Fuego de Colima ('Fiery Volcano') as it is called by the locals, is 3846 meters.
The eruption took place on Wednesday January 18th and was so strong that the sound was carried over a distance of more than 60 km. Over the course of several hours, the volcano ejected lava from its summit, creating a column of ash from 2 to 4 kilometers high.
The local security service obliged residents to stay in rooms with closed windows and doors.
