According to scientists, similar holes appeared earlier, however, the current stands out for its unusual shape, writes The Daily Mail. The American Space Agency published a video on the Internet, captured from May 5 to 7 by the SDO probe (Solar Dynamics Observatory), which clearly shows the square hole appearing on surface of the sun. Coronal hole formed in the outer atmosphere of the star, becomes noticeable in the process of rotation of the star. A hole, according to scientists, arises of reduced density and plasma temperatures in some parts of the sun, in this case highlights the square shape. In this case, you can notice inside the hole bright loops, which are clots of hot plasma, surrounding small areas of the solar magnetic field. The uniqueness of the footage is also manifested in its randomness. By coincidence, all devices Solar Dynamics Observatories observed the same point on the star. At the same time, scientists say that the possible the destructive effect of the hole on the Earth is extremely negligible due to of the fact that it is located on the southern part of the surface of the Sun. Recall that last year was marked by the highest activity of the Sun for last 11 years.
