Tautatis is a space object with a diameter of 5 kilometers and weighing at least 50 billion tons. This giant asteroid already approached several times in our planet, threatening to destroy her.
Indeed, a collision with such a colossus does not promise the Earth nothing good, most likely on the planet simply will not remain modern civilization, and all other life, both land and underwater, will change dramatically.
Asteroid Tautatis of a very peculiar form – it is in the form of peanuts. True, astronomers believe that in the distant past these were two separate space objects connected to each other friend in some weird way. Fancy Tautatis Form creates enormous difficulties for scientists, because of which they cannot accurately calculate the flight path of the asteroid, and therefore the time, when it draws closer to Earth again. Moreover – how much will it be dangerous for our planet to know for the same reason is also very problematic. This is why Tautatis is considered the most dangerous. an asteroid that can really suit our civilization so long-awaited Apocalypse. Currently astronomers believe that supposedly (but not completely) giant space recluse may collide with the blue ball in 2065 year.

Tautatis was opened in 1934, while it was quite close to Earth, however, scientists soon “lost” it, and only in 1989, French astronomer Christian Pollas found him in space again.
The most detailed and thoroughly asteroid (4179) Toutatis was studied in 2012 using a Chinese orbital ship Chang’e-2, when the space giant flew from the Earth only 18 lunar distances, which allowed him to photograph in high resolution and study in more detail the structure of this object.
By the way, the most dangerous approach of Tautatis to our planet happened in 2004, that year scientists even warned rulers of all countries, that you need to prepare for the worst – the very possible end of the world, or at least global space crash. However, as they say, trouble passed by of our house.
But whether it is waiting for the Earth in the near future, this is another question …
