Scientists of Altai Technical University (Center ultrasound technology) after four years of hard work finally created a unique robot that can successfully drill and collect soil on other planets.
For all this time, Altai specialists created three like a robot, but the most advanced – just now. This the device is able to drill with the help of ultrasound – to a depth of two meters. Moreover, the soil will be removed completely, without loss of ice or water, which scientists also need to research.
Now the robot is being tested on Earth, and in conditions close to the moon, as it is designed to be sent to satellite as part of the Luna Resource program. Judging by the first test result, a spaceship with a given ultrasound setting will go to the moon without being “late”, that is, like Scheduled as early as 2019.
