Many people know that the United Arab Emirates have colossal cash reserves. And now, the UAE government has announced that it plans to begin own space program for the study of Mars. This statement caused a lot of surprise, because before the study of the Red planets were interested only in the Russian Federation, the United States, the European Union and India.
A space probe called “Hope”, which is translated from English means “Hope”, the UAE want to run on Mars in five years – at the beginning of the summer of 2020. If similar space mission will really take place and will pass successfully, the UAE will become one of the most advanced states in terms of space exploration.
The unmanned station will have a weight of one and a half thousand kilograms. Having reached Mars, it will spin for four years on orbit the Red planet, exploring its surface. Flying the device will study the Martian atmosphere, shedding light on many questions that torment Earth scientists now. For example, the Arabs want find out where Martian water got, thanks to which dust storms occur on the planet, what is the composition of local clouds and much more.
According to the Arabs, this mission will not be launched in order to demonstrate to the world the abilities of the Emirates, and with a single goal to make a feasible contribution to the study of the Solar system.
It is planned that the space probe “Hope” in four years will send to Earth over a terabyte of digital information that the Arab scientists will carefully analyze themselves, as well as transmit NASA experts, so that Americans spend their, even more detailed studies.
