Scientists have created a neural network that is designed to identification of objects that pose a threat to life on Earth. Artificial intelligence will determine if it encounters an accuracy of 99.99% whether the celestial body is with the earth or not.
Based on the existing base of already known asteroids, AI drew special “attention” to 11 objects with a diameter of more than 100 meters. Moreover NASA experts did not previously consider them dangerous. Sizes of these objects really cause concern since the explosion from a collision with Earth will equal the strength of several hundred atomic bombs.
However, scientists do not believe that certain artificial intelligence objects pose a serious threat, as their chances collisions with the Earth are very small, and rapprochement with our planet will happen between 2131 and 2923
To evaluate the capabilities of artificial intelligence, scientists uploaded data on 2000 objects known to NASA scientists. Neural the network with an accuracy of 99.99% determined which object represents a threat to life on Earth, and which not.
Scientists are confident that in the future, artificial intelligence will be able to independently evaluate the data obtained and timely inform scientists about potential threats with side of asteroids.
