Astronomers have discovered a planet that they say is similar to Earth like no other known to science.

The planet, called “Kepler-186f”, is located in called the “habitable zone” – at such a distance from the star, where there are favorable conditions for the emergence of life.

It’s not too cold and not too hot, and scientists believe that there can be liquid water on the surface of the planet – this is a key condition for the development of living organisms. The star around which the planet revolves is at a distance about 500 light-years from Earth.

The star itself is a little smaller and colder than the Sun, and the planet, on the contrary, a little more than the Earth – about one tenth. The dimensions of the Kepler-186f suggest that it is rocky. planet.

In recent years, several important discoveries have been made in exploration of planets outside the solar system. First planet was opened 20 years ago, and to date, with The Kepler telescope has already detected nearly two thousand.

However, a planet that is exactly the same in the size, like the Earth, revolves around a star like the Sun, on no one has yet seen the same distance.

European Space Agency recently approved development orbiting telescope “Plateau”, which will be specially configured to identify true analogues of the Earth.
