Representatives of the State Historical Museum of the Southern Urals felt that their visitors should not touch the largest (as is commonly believed) a fragment of the famous Chelyabinsk meteorite, stored here. According to experts, even minor contact a person with a fragment of this celestial body is hypothetically dangerous, because on the surface of a stone arriving from space, there are unwanted microorganisms.

The most impressive fragment in size and weight (in every sense) a meteorite fell on February 15, 2013 into the lake Chebarkul in the Chebarkul district of the Chelyabinsk region. Original the mass of the object that entered the earth’s atmosphere was about 13 thousand tons, and scientists estimate the age of the block at about 4.45 billion years.

The fact that a meteorite has cracked and partially burnt, like it turned out to be still dangerous, creates a mysterious and a little fantastic aura.
