The moon is not the only satellite of the Earth – such astronomers made a sensational statement the other day.

According to scientists, the second satellite of our planet, called Cruitney, an unusual orbit. Trajectory of Cruitney around the Earth has the shape of a horseshoe.

The diameter of the detected satellite does not exceed 5 kilometers. Now Cruitney is about the same huge distance from us, like, say, Mars. And he will be able to get closer to Earth in just over two millennia. To fully pass your orbit, our second satellite takes 789 years.

By the way, there is another scientific theory: after 7899 years, Cruitney will come so close to Venus that it will be swallowed up by her power attraction, and the Earth will again have one satellite – the Moon.

The presence of a second satellite on our planet is not something outlandish. For example, Saturn has three satellites with similar shape of the orbit.
