The alleged comet discovered 136 years ago is relatively famous British amateur astronomer William Frederick Denning might not be a comet at all, say modern researchers. In their opinion, a scientist who has achieved in his field significant success without formal scientific preparation, could become in 1881 by an accidental eyewitness to the appearance of an unidentified flying object.
The Briton himself guessed then: something with this “comet” is not So. Describing the trajectory of an object in space, an astronomer claimed that he behaves too meaningfully for natural celestial body. Unfortunately, in those days, information about UFOs and aliens were almost absent, so Denning didn’t even suspected that a ship might have entered the lens of his telescope representatives of extraterrestrial civilization.
In 1881, William wrote:
An ordinary comet is simply not able to move like that. thus, it clearly has a meaningful trajectory. I may be something I do not understand due to the technical poverty of our time. Remains just hope that the astronomers of the future will sort out my notes and finally answer what it is.
