SpaceX founder Ilon Musk admits creating on Mars a permanent colony is not possible, even in the short term. The construction of a town for settlers can take decades, but to provide him with the necessary resources will require several thousand flights to the red planet. Musk wrote about this on Twitter.
According to him, the distance between the Earth and Mars is only once every two years becomes minimal and this “window” is the most optimal period for flying to Mars. Earlier, the billionaire stated that to send Starship to Near-Earth orbit will require fuel for 900 thousand dollars. Taking into account operating costs, the launch of space the ship will cost two million dollars, that is, it is cheaper than the use of smaller spaceships.
