As part of the ESA space program, a group of Greek students in which included future architects, biologists, aerospace engineers, doctors, etc., introduced an unusual concept of the lunar base of inflatable modules, which is planned to be installed in a small Crater Selena.
This is what the project manager architect Angelus says about this. Alfacis:
The main task that we set for ourselves is to create such modules that, on the one hand, would completely protect people from adverse external conditions and ensured their comfortable stay on the moon, and on the other – were collected from materials that colonizers will have at hand, that is, mined at the very Earth satellite.
The unique base will be assembled according to the principle of multi-storey: first, in the small crater, the first (main) is set inflatable model, which is sprinkled with soil and then on it all other modules are piled up. This design is reliable protects people from radiation, low temperatures and normal for Selena meteor strikes.

The base is planned to be installed at the south pole of the moon, where there is plenty of small craters. The point, as they say, is small – start manned flights to the Earth satellite.
By the way, we note that last year this concept of the lunar base won second place in the competition Moon Village Association, and Today Alfacis developers project has already been published on official website of the European Space Agency.
As we already wrote, the lunar race is gaining new revolutions. For example, Russia intends to send cosmonauts there already in 2031, and by 2034 – to build the first Russian lunar base. How much will it be different from today? it’s hard to say what it is to be, but it’s quite possible that Greek students have the gift of foresight, and their project, or some of his ideas will be realized in the future when colonization of the moon will begin not in words, but in practice …
