Researchers of UrFU completed physical and chemical analysis Chelyabinsk meteorite. Photo from open sources Photo: RIA Novosti Studying fragments of the Chelyabinsk meteorite can help identify the algorithm, according which created the solar system billions of years ago. Such Ural scientists do not exclude the possibility, including a doctor Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Chief Researcher of the Department physical methods and quality control instruments of UrFU Mikhail Oshtrakh, told the journalists of Yekaterinburg about the first results of the study celestial guest at a news conference on Monday in IA ITAR-TASS Ural. Researchers UrFU completed physical and chemical analysis of a meteorite that fell in the Chelyabinsk region, comparing the chemical composition of the samples with 11 similar meteorites classes LL, L and H using the so-called Mössbauer spectroscopy, which is actively used today as in the study of meteoritic bodies, and in geology and metal science. It is very likely that in the foreseeable future fragments of Chelyabinsk everyone will be able to see if UrFU is implementing its project on the creation in Yekaterinburg of the Museum of extraterrestrial matter. However, no elements unknown to science inside the wreckage of Chelyabinsk discovered, as well as traces of any of their “miracles.” The alien mind did not apply tentacles to their manufacture either. According to Mikhail Oshtrakh, the uniqueness of Chelyabinsk is not in any special chemical structure, but in the fact that its fragments were detected very quickly, which means they did not have time to undergo environmental impact, primarily air and water oxidation. Due to this, Chelyabinsk practically does not contain iron oxides, but it is rich in rock-forming silicates (olivine and orthopyroxene), nickel-iron alloys and troilite – sulfide iron, which is very rare in terrestrial rocks. Not accidentally overseas fragments of Chelyabinsk are actively interested in foreign meteorite researchers, such as Japanese scientists, have which have equipment for detailed isotope analysis. It is possible this equipment will help to talk about space the “newcomer” is a little more than it is known today. Now most researchers agree that the cosmic body from which millions of years ago, Chelyabinsk broke away, 4.5 formed a billion years ago (i.e., half a billion years older than the Earth) in the result of completely natural processes, that is, from the same the gas-dust cloud from which the Earth and others formed planets of the solar system. However, this does not mean that for Fundamental science exploring meteorite debris is futile. Useful, and how! First, chondrites are a kind of “photograph” the very first stage of the formation of space objects. According to a number of astrophysicists, silicate chondras (main content chondrites) formed directly from the protoplanetary cloud, surrounding the sun billions of years ago. Secondly, meteorite iron from time immemorial was quoted by metallurgists as the most “anticorrosive”. The reason is simple: cosmic iron, unlike “industrial”, and melts longer, and cools longer – sometimes in for hundreds of millions of years during which it flies calmly in its orbit without being subjected to oxidation due to complete lack of oxygen in a vacuum. Understanding what specific chemical processes lead to the creation of such miracle alloys, metallurgists will be able to create their analogues in terrestrial, laboratory conditions. At least least, this possibility was not ruled out by Mikhail Oshtrakh in an interview with correspondent of “BE”.
