NASA opened a capsule with lunar soil, which was delivered astronauts to Earth in 1972.

NASA reports that samples are in the printed capsule stones and regolith, which until now have been stored in Lunar Soil Labs in Texas. The soil was taken in 60 centimeters long using vertical technology drilling, which allowed to keep in the same order sequence of soil layers.

Johnson spokesman Francis McCubin said opening these samples will enable the next generation researchers develop technology for better analysis of materials that astronauts will obtain in the next lunar missions “Artemis”.

NASA scientist Sarah Noble said that now scientists have more opportunities for measurements than before.

Next January, scientists are preparing to print another a capsule with lunar soil, delivered from the moon over 40 years ago. For several months, laboratory specialists will study him, and then transferred to the expert groups of the space agency for further research.

Independent researchers previously discovered something strange on one of the pictures of the American lunar mission “Apollo” 1972 of the year.
