A photo from open sources Astronomers have discovered the disappearance giant geysers on the satellite of Jupiter – Europe. Europe is considered one of the largest moons of Jupiter, discovered by Italian astronomer Galileo Galilei back in 1610. And in 2013, in area of the satellite’s south pole, researchers have discovered giant geysers. They beat from the ocean under the ice, they the height reached approximately 200 km. Pictures were taken with Hubble telescope. In the future, NASA experts planned explore water vapor with a robotic probe. Taken water samples could help in studies regarding the possibilities for microscopic life under the ice. But in the pictures, made in 2014, there were no geysers. It is assumed that Geyser exit points to the satellite’s surface, at present, chained with ice. Interestingly, the short duration of the presence of geysers scientists had previously assumed. This was stated by one of Researchers at the San Antonio Lorenz Roth Institute. He also reported that work on the search for geysers on this satellite will continue until April 2015. Scientists also plan to send special the device to the surface of one of the four satellites discovered in 1610 Galileo, to take samples of water and ice.
