Scientists have discovered on Mars the traces of a giant tsunami, which It happened because of an asteroid that fell on the planet billions of years ago. The Martian crater of Lomonosov is a clear confirmation of this.
Researchers have discovered geological formations that similar to similar formations on Earth. They are exactly the same formed from large waves as a result of the fall of an asteroid.
About two billion years ago (in the Hesperian period) in the oceans that still existed on Mars fell from space large objects that subsequently caused megatsunami. Emerging waves led to the creation of a coastline in the northwest Arabian land.
Location of geological formations that arose due to tsunami suggests that the impact crater was supposed to be in north side of Arabian land. Scientists conducted a study ten Martian craters, and only a Lomonosov crater the size of 120 kilometers, had all the signs of a sea crater.
