A month ago, an international group of scientists said that under the surface of the red planet has water that evaporates under exposure to high temperatures where daylight is observed days, appearing again with the onset of Martian night.
If this information is confirmed, then in the future at a distant the planet can build water farms that serve to generate water. After that, we can already talk about the colonization of Mars.
Employees of the Swedish University of Technology Lulea under the leadership of Professor Javier Martin-Torres has already developed prototype of a water-producing apparatus, which, presumably, will be sent to the Red Planet in three years. It will happen in as part of the Exomars mission, which the European Space Agency plans to implement with the support of the Russian Federal Space Agency in 2018.
A unit created by the Swedes can absorb up to five milliliters of water from the planet’s atmosphere in one Martian day, which is known to be about forty minutes longer than terrestrial. In total, the water farm will hold a maximum twenty five milliliters of liquid. Of course, this is quite a bit, however, if the technology is effective, such farms can will make ten times larger and install in many places.
According to Javier Martin-Torres, in relatively not too far future technology can be adapted to create Martian water management. Humanity will have the opportunity collect pairs above the surface of the Red Planet, getting the usual distilled water, fully suitable for drinking and growing plants. So the first ever to appear on Mars greenhouses that do not lack life-giving moisture.
