Johann-Dietrich Werner, who will soon become the head of European Space Agency, told the public that interested in building a special base on the moon. Base should become the second international extraterrestrial object after the ISS.
Werner recently spoke about his plans at the National space symposium. According to experts, the lunar base can become the logical successor to the International Space Station. Project must certainly be international in order to contribute to him the best minds of America, Russia and Europe. A similar station in theory give humanity the opportunity to make significant progress forward on the way to the exploration of outer space, teaching astronauts not to receive resources from the Earth, but to mine them.
Johann Dietrich emphasized that now it is necessary to look into future and ask yourself: what will happen after it ends ISS life? The future head of ESA is sure that Mars is a much more attractive place to build a base, however humanity does not yet have sufficient strength for such an operation. Perhaps only in the future. And for this future to come you need to start taking the first steps towards this. One such step and will be the construction of a natural satellite of the Earth full base suitable for living and research.
According to Werner, this idea is not new at all. World scientists put forward it since the late sixties of the last century. First it was planned that after his triumphal flight to the moon such America can build the base, but the Americans admitted that neither one state on the planet cannot carry out such a project in life on your own.
Werner’s statement was not overlooked by ufologists who recalled that UFO activity is observed on the moon and even found alien buildings, so the development of a natural satellite Earth can be fraught with certain difficulties. If the moon actually is the transshipment base for UFOs then aliens may not be allowed to build a space station on it earthlings.
