Published a new image of Europe

A photo from open sources

Scientists have created a new version of what is perhaps the best image of the ice-covered satellite of Jupiter, Europe. Mosaic color image was obtained in the late 1990s by space NASA’s Galileo apparatus. This is the first time NASA publishes an old photo updated using modern processing methods images. This view of Europe is highlighted in a color that shows the largest part of the moon’s surface in high resolution. Open source photo Early low-resolution image, published in 2001, has very bright colors. New the image is closer to perception by the human eye. Lovers satellite images created their own versions of this view with using publicly available data, but NASA has not previously released snapshots own performance in natural colors. The image has many long, curved and linear fractures on bright ice satellite shell. Scientists are eager to find out if russet fractures and other structures clues about the geological history of Europe and the chemical composition of the oceans, believed to exist beneath the ice. In addition to recently processed image, the new video will explain in more detail the reason by which the oceans of Europe is a priority for future research.
