American experts studied layered deposits on equatorial part of the red planet and concluded that liquid water on Mars still existed, but maybe it still exists day. The results of these studies were recently published in scientific journal “Geological Society of America”.
Experts said that layered mineral deposits are very often found in the polar territories of Mars. These deposits were formed due to low temperatures and small particles of soil in the atmosphere of the Red Planet. At some point, American scientists discovered deposits in equatorial parts of the planet and turned their attention to them. Experts have established that these formations are the result of work underground sources on Mars. Researchers note that in places where water managed to break through to the surface of the planet, unique small hills formed, and where the water flowed down, layered deposits appeared.
