At the moment, in the capital’s Institute of Biomedical Of problems is the intensive preparation of a group of macaques for the flight to Mars. According to domestic scientists, the choice of this species of primates by no means accidental, as they are considered the most trained and smart monkeys. Among several dozen applicants were already the four most intelligent and obedient individuals were selected, of which they will soon begin to educate astronauts.
Reportedly, in the program for preparing monkeys for flight on a distant planet will include, in particular, the development of simple skills control electronics via joysticks. Primates from monkey families will be trained to sit in chairs and control technology on special ultramodern simulators developed specially for them. For the successful implementation of the assigned to them tasks, small experimental subjects will receive fruits and sweets.
In addition, in Roscosmos they want to teach monkeys to solve math problems and even make simple algorithms. Despite the fact that the Russian spacecraft that will fly to the Red Planet, will be controlled from Earth, freelance possible situations when the mission will depend solely on the beast crew, its skills and intuition.
According to project managers, for training macaques in all basic space skills will take at least two years.
