Researchers say that wakit has negligible crystal sizes – only 1-5 microns. In this regard, his radiography studies were not possible, and it took fast electron diffraction equipment, provided by the Ural Federal University. Study mineral was carried out in a special high-tech laboratory, designed to analyze materials of extraterrestrial origin, in including potentially dangerous.
Wakitit has already been registered with the International Mineralogical associations, and its reference samples were placed in the collection several Russian museums. Remarkable that the chemical the connection was discovered by chance – initially the prospectors were looking near Wakit, gold and inadvertently stumbled upon fragments of a meteorite.
