In June 2019, Roscosmos Corporation received a patent for invention of a self-destructive satellite.
The main idea of the development is to space apparatus at the end of its service life or breakdown on command from the Earth completely destroyed, almost disappeared.
Designers suggest using materials when heated which passes the liquid stage and instantly passes into gaseous. Simply put, the object just evaporates in the near-Earth space, leaving almost no traces.
Why does Russia need a self-destructing satellite
The developers explained that the use of new technology will allow significantly reduce the amount of space debris in orbit Of the earth.
Earlier it was reported that the RKS holding developed a space apparatus for the destruction of other satellites. This unit may simply grind space objects and then mix it with oxygen and hydrogen, thereby obtaining fuel for its further functioning. This unit consists of a special dome-shaped traps and a solid processing compartment materials (“mills”).
