Religious secrets – what do we know about them? Are there angels? Does prayer help? Here are some questions that I’m trying to find answers modern science. While scientists are trying to find a rational explanation of religious miracles, believers continue blindly believe, without requiring any explanation. But ten mysterious phenomena have been of constant interest for centuries. Interest some caused by simple curiosity, while others driven the zeal of researchers – they want to get to the bottom of the truth, whatever she was not. The phenomenon of the Virgin Mary For centuries the appearances of the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus, were celebrated throughout the world. Famous places of the appearance of the Virgin Mary: Guadeloupe, Mexico (1531), Fatima, Portugal (1917), Lourdes, France (1858); Gitzerwald, Poland (1877), Paris, France (1830), La Salette, France (1846) and others. These cases are usually accompanied by other supernatural phenomena – music and singing from heaven, miraculous healings, glow, supersensible perception and community. Apparitions of the Virgin Mary continue to this day, but their authenticity is not verified. The site of the most famous of recent phenomena was Medjugorje in Croatia. In 1968, the appearance of the Virgin Mary was supposedly even recorded on tape in Zeytun, a suburb of Cairo. Egypt. In time of other appearances Virgin Mary also makes prophecies, the most known of which are the Fatima prophecies. Skeptics consider these visions hallucinations or episodes of mass hysteria, while other researchers are looking for explanations of these phenomena, comparing them with UFO contacts. The phenomenon of angels There are dozens of books and thousands of eyewitness accounts describing encounters with beings whom they called angels. Sometimes them described as a pillar of bright light, or as divinely beautiful people, or even ordinary people from whom unusual vibes. Almost always they appear in critical situations when the person needs help. Sometimes the need for help is very strong – the person was on the verge of suicide – and in other cases the situation was quite mundane: for example, a young woman at night on a deserted road a flat tire rolled, and a stranger saved her, which seemed to have grown out of the ground and disappeared without a trace. The ark Testament In the Old Testament (in the Book of Exodus) is described in detail gilded box with a golden lid that the sons of Israel built according to the direction of the Lord in order to store in it The tablets of the Testament, on which were written the Ten Commandments. More God allegedly told Moses: “… There I will be revealed to you and speak with you over the lid, in the midst of two cherubs that are above the ark of revelation, about everything that I will command through you to the children of Israel. “The Israelites took this holy relic with them on campaigns and carried before the army in the battles, as it supposedly possesses incredible power, and anyone who owns it owns the world. Holy relics Holy relics are the remains of Christian saints churches that are subject to religious worship and miraculous manner not subject to decay. Imperishable relics persist for decades and centuries. The relics are often on display at temples and Christian shrines. In the Catholic world especially the relics of St. Clara of Assisi, St. Vincent de Paul are known, Saint Bernadette Subirou, Saint John Bosco, Blessed Imelda Lambertini, St. Catherine Laburve and many others. For some even the body of Pope John XXIII is unusually good preserved. Of particular note is the case of Blessed Margarita. from Metola (Margarita Metolskaya), who died in 1330. IN In 1558 there was a need to rebury her remains, because the coffin is partially rotten. When the body was taken out of the coffin, eyewitnesses were amazed: under the decayed clothes, a mutilated body Margarita was preserved almost perfectly, there was no trace of decay on it. Stigmata religious secrets, one of the most terrifying and Christian Church’s controversial wonders – stigmata bleeding painful wounds that most often appear on the palms of the hands and feet. The first case is the appearance of stigmata at the Saint Francis of Assisi (1186-1226) in 1224. The most famous the stigmatist of recent years – St. Pio from Pitrelchina, also known as Padre Pio (1887-1968). Padre Pio was monk Capuchin and became famous for stigmata and miracles. IN In 2002, he was canonized by Pope John Paul II. Many officially unrecognized stigmatists turned out to be scammers and impostors – they themselves inflicted wounds in various ways. Even Padre Pio was accused of causing acid injuries. Beyond Wonderful Origins, Another Possible Explanation stigmata – a psychosomatic disease based on a fanatical faith. Bleeding and myrrh-streaming icons In the press periodically messages appear about myrrh-streaming or bleeding statues, icons and other images of Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary and some saints; the number of such icons is growing every year. One of the most famous myrrh-streaming icons – the icon of Christ in the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, located above the place of the alleged birth of Christ; Jesus’ eyes on the icon exude red (bloody) tears. Other famous bleeding and myrrh-streaming icons of the Catholic world: Weeping Madonna in Toronto Canada; Mary’s myrrh-streaming icon Orthodox Church of St. George of Antioch in the city of Cicero, Illinois State; icon of Christ (exuding pure olive oil) in St. Mary’s Antioch Orthodox Church in Sydney, Australia and many, many others. Skeptics suspect that in all of these cases of fraud and fraud, and all research and tests do not give an unambiguous result, which makes myrrh-streaming icons one of the most mysterious religious phenomena.
