On the night of February 25, 1942 in the sky over Los Angeles dozens of UFOs appeared. American air defenses opened on them frantic Fire. How did the battle end?

Aerial attack on Los Angeles

February 1942 Los Angeles has been living military for the third month life. On December 7, 1941, Japan attacked an American squadron in Pearl Harbor. December 11, Germany declared war on the United States. February 23 at California coast discovered a Japanese submarine. Residents master the science of blackout and live in anticipation of an attack. And it not long in coming.

On the night of February 25 at 2:15 the military spotted unknown in the sky objects approaching the city. Residents raised to their feet howling sirens air defense. The city has plunged into darkness – these are employees central substation, following the instructions, de-energized Los Angeles. Only the rays of numerous spotlights crossed the sky. Old men, women and children descended into bomb shelters, men remained upstairs to extinguish possible fires. Everyone stood waiting bombing. Not even an hour had passed before the air defense guns rumbled.

For almost an hour, anti-aircraft guns fired. Over 1400 released charges. At 4:10, the shelling ceased, at 7:20 they announced the end air alert. The military began to take stock of the night battle.

Who were you fighting with?

Not a single aircraft was shot down, no ground was found one wreckage of an aircraft. During the “bombing” on the city did not drop a single bomb. Several destroyed houses suffered from the fire of their air defense. 6 people died – from the falling shrapnel, from accidents, from heart attacks caused by air attack.

A few hours later, the representative of the US Navy, General Frank Knox officially stated that there was no attack, there was a false anxiety caused by “nervous strain”.

Several days passed and the Ministry of War stated that the attack was, the city was attacked by 15 Japanese aircraft, who had the task to verify the effectiveness of urban air defense systems and at the same time undermine the morale of the Americans. But valiant defenders Los Angeles military personnel of the 37th Air Defense Battery, firing 1,400 shells, drove off the enemy, causing him significant damage.

Journalists began with malice to ask what they mean. military under the word “damage”? And can they show though Anything that the Japs “dropped”?

A new explanation soon followed: the objects were weather balloons. Then one more thing: these were balls launched by the military in order to testing new radars. Eventually returned to the original version of “military hysteria” and “false alarm.”

Documents and Witnesses

And now a small detail: in the 80s in print media a document dated May 03, 1942 addressed to the president Roosevelt and having the most direct relation to the described incident (See also the latest UFO news). Here are some excerpts out of him.

“With regard to the air raid on 24.02.1942 Los Angeles. Establish the nationality of the attackers City facilities are not provided possible. Experts believe that objects were of extraterrestrial origin. An order was issued to establish in intelligence structure of a special unit to study this incident. “The document has all the required attributes, registration number. Fake? Maybe.

But there are still witnesses.

Ralph Blum: “I was 9 years old then. I saw a cigar-shaped an object. It had several hits. But they did not cause a UFO no harm. ”

Peter Jenkins: “I counted 25 silver objects. They lined with the letter V and flew over my head to the side Long Beach. ”

Carl Zais, Navy Officer: “Spotlights Caught a group of 9 aircraft. They had a silver color. Guns fired at him, and at least something! ”

And here is what the air defense fighters recalled: “They seemed to mock at us! They flew right over our guns. We didn’t shoot stopping for a second. Several times I hit, that’s for sure, but it did no harm to them. And I’m sure it wasn’t meteorological probes, I could not be mistaken. And what are these probes such invulnerable to shells ?! ”

This can be done. There is no doubt that an event that went down in the history of the city as the “Battle of Los Angeles,” will never be revealed.
