Georgian scientist Zaza Osmanov (Free University of Tbilisi) believes that humanity cannot detect traces of extraterrestrial civilizations due to the fact that they don’t use the ones we know technology. In other words – we are not looking there.
The scientist gave a new explanation for the Fermi paradox, explaining that alien civilizations can use probes whose size no more than a nanometer. Without special equipment, these devices will just invisible. However, they can be seen using infrared region of the spectrum. Information on this was published in Science. Alert.
The essence of the idea is that self-reproducing reconnaissance ships furrowing outer space, collecting and sending information to their creators living at this time on their planet.
Of course, a source of resources is needed for these ships, and where to take them is a matter of priority. However scientist and this “foresaw”, presenting his hypothesis. In his opinion, reconnaissance ships are so small that they should be enough hydrogen atoms that are contained in interstellar dust. This they will also have enough energy to reproduce for themselves similar probes.
Osmanov believes that spaceships during the takeover hydrogen protons should emit light in the infrared range. Therefore, when observing them in the same emission spectrum, their the cluster will look like a multi-kilometer comet. If this “comet” will suddenly change its brightness, then this is a clear sign a moving cluster of alien reconnaissance ships.

The scientist’s idea is primarily interesting in that what mankind seeks in space is something similar to its own technology and size, and here we are we are faced with completely different parameters. Who knows, maybe not only reconnaissance probes have such small forms, but also their creators. Maybe then it is worth approaching the question of search from this point of view. extraterrestrial civilizations? For this, it is only worth assuming that intelligence is independent of media size, even if it is the size of microbe, and then, perhaps, the boundaries of the search will expand.
