On the thirteenth of November 1974, twenty-three at that time American Ronald Defeo committed the massacre by shooting from rifles of his father, mother, two younger brothers and two younger sisters. This terrible crime entailed the appearance of such a thing as the Amityville Horror, which means evil forces living in the house and forcing the man so cruelly crack down on relatives.
Defoe repeatedly claimed that he did not want to cause anyone harm, however, his mind was seized by the voices living in the house, which wanted human sacrifices. After that, he headed to the nearest bar and reported to the people present there that his relatives are dead. The killer arrested that night.
Many details of the incident are surrounded by a halo of mysticism. For instance, it’s well known that Defoe had no reason to kill relatives. The forensic psychiatrist recognized the offender as absolutely sane. Many investigators have suggested that a man could not commit killing alone. In addition, as it turned out, at the time of death all the victims slept peacefully, although after the first shot the rest the tenants were supposed to wake up. No trace was found in their blood sleeping pills, poisons or drugs.

Near the house for all this time several mysterious photographs were taken in which strange shadows in the windows were imprinted, a girl in a white robe, a boy with luminous eyes and so on.
