This story happened in the French city of Marseille already many, many years ago. The locals consider her a legend telling why once all the city clocks were moved forward an hour.
So, not far from Marseilles once lived a very wealthy man. Mr. Jack (that was the name of the man) was a descendant of an old family, which apparently helped him marry daughter of the mayor of Marseille. In this marriage two sons and two daughters were born. Parents wanted to give them the best education, and for this purpose the family moved to Paris. The Marseille estate of Mr. Valet remains under the control of a certain Lebrun.
