On the Presampscot River in the American city of Westbrook, Maine, the other day unexpectedly formed a perfectly flat ice disc diameter over 90 meters. The video below was received local resident Tina Reidel.
Seeing this amazing miracle of nature on the water, a woman does not too lazy to run home for a drone equipped with a camera. Eventually picturesque shots spread around the World Wide Web resources, triggering rave comments from their users.
Experts say that such discs occur in winter on rivers with a slow watercourse. Due to the vortex flow, a piece of ice the cover near the shore begins to rotate, and over time its edges stacked on neighboring ice. The result is a flat, perfectly even circle with a diameter of up to several tens of meters. If the ice is thick enough, then on such a spinning disk you can even ride like a carousel. However, it’s more reasonable not to to risk.
