Today on the Internet you can meet and not without joy in heart read hundreds of stories about how someone saves a stray or abandoned dog from death. Wonderful that and speak! However, dogs were always appreciated in Russia and considered them loyal friends. And not in vain.
Let’s remember how dogs were treated from time immemorial in Central Asia before Russian soldiers arrived there. Came and they were amazed that the dogs here literally hate their owners. For some reason, the shepherd sheep breeders believed that with the dogs that guarded their flocks, that is, they served the person faithfully, it is necessary handle only with the help of screams and kicks, and even they are food they must mine themselves at all. And therefore, to anyone who is here thought up to caress and feed the shepherd, looked like a fool or even abnormal.
No wonder that where the Russian military appeared squads, soon all the local dogs fled to foreigners, who fed and caressed them, and they became a sign of gratitude loyal watchmen, not admitting any local camps partisans and uninvited visitors, sometimes tearing them to death (if Russian soldiers did not arrive on time). These were mighty dogs – the ancestors of the present Alabaev. There is even a case where a hundred and a half dozen such shepherds dispersed a hundred enemy cavalry preparing to attack Russian squad.
Local sheep farmers, of course, tried to get their dogs back, because that without them grazing flocks was difficult and expensive, hire extra shepherds. And although the shepherd in Central Asia was worth then a penny, he still demanded at least some kind of salary and food, but a dog – nothing. And therefore, the Russian military often dog owners came and demanded to return the animal or pay for him, and the price has always been set beyond one could buy a couple of camels.
Naturally, the Russians simply offered to pick up the shepherd, while smiling slyly in mustache. How the sheep breeder took his dog – it was the whole performance, which sometimes everyone who came to free in a military unit. Because the Asian was trying to take his the dog again with a stick and a rope, while not even realizing that the animal has become completely different. And the shepherds asked such a trepak to the former owner that he barely blew his legs (not without help, of course, of Russian soldiers, who, having scoffed in amusement, still they didn’t let the dogs tear to shreds, in general, in nothing an innocent breeder who was just so stupid brought up).
