However, even more company experts were surprised that diamond belongs to the rarest grade “IIa” – such stones have the highest cost, since only two percent of the world’s mined diamonds fall into this category.

The weight of an amazing find is one thousand one hundred eleven carats, that is, about two hundred twenty-two grams. It is noteworthy that the previous record-breaking large stone, called Cullinan, discovered in 1905 again on African continent. This achievement is still not beaten up: the mass of that diamond was three thousand one hundred and six carats, which equals six hundred twenty one grams. Cullinan chopped on a few gems, most of which were used to create jewelry for the british the royal family.

Canadians report that the diamond they discovered will also have to crush into smaller pieces, since it is impossible put into any laser analysis device, and by experts you have to evaluate the jewel in unconventional ways. It’s hard to imagine how much such a stone costs, but one thing can be said with accuracy – the find will be an essential part company profits this year. Just remember the diamond Legacy Winston, who weighed twenty grams and was two years ago auctioned off for nearly twenty-seven million dollars. The stone recently mined by Lucara Diamonds has a mass of eleven times greater, not to mention its rare quality.

True, the management of the diamond mining company in its a press release notes that leaving a gem whole is everything it doesn’t make sense – in this form it will cost fabulous money, in addition, such a large diamond cannot be processed and use for jewelry, for which, in fact, and such rare finds are intended.
