Trying to help a schoolgirl, web users could not come to consensus. Some users got 16, while others 1. And all this is due to the fact that everyone carried out calculations in a different sequence.
The correct answer was given by the commentator, who reminded everyone that division and multiplication operations take precedence over addition and subtraction, but among themselves they are equivalent. Based on this, calculations must be carried out in the order they are stand in the example, and the correct answer will be 16.
