Surgeons from the US state of Maryland had to spend one of the most difficult operations in their practice. Four month old parents the boys sounded the alarm and went to the doctors after noticed that their child’s head is growing too fast. Doctors conducted a scan and found that a tooth had grown in the patient’s brain. 
A photo from open sources As surgeons explained to frightened parents and oncologists, this was due to the formation of a rare congenital tumors – craniopharyngiomas, writes the New England Journal of Medicine. This neoplasm in the vast majority of cases benign, however, can grow to the size of a ball for golf and causes a decrease in sense of smell, impaired hearing and vision, and also increases intracranial pressure. Researchers always suspected that these tumors that appear in a child as early as pregnancy, formed from the same cells as the teeth, since they detected large accumulations of calcium, but a real formed tooth before this case they cannot find accounted for.

However a tooth that grew up in his pituitary gland, yet disrupted the brain, in particular, proper production of hormones – the patient will have to take them before end of life. This case can rightfully take pride of place in a list of the strangest operations performed by oncologists. In the meantime, in young man from Iran, who had to treat hairy eyes. A strange tumor in his eye appeared almost immediately after birth, however by the age of 19 it increased significantly in sizes (up to 0.6 cm) and prevented closing the eyelids, in addition, from it stiff hair began to grow. Doctors removed the tumor and found that this is a limbal dermoid – extremely rare, usually benign education.
