Photographers Kevin Ebi and Zachary Hartier managed to get recently unusual shots that are interesting to see not only with biological, but even from a political point of view.
Men visited the island’s National Historical Park San juan located in washington to film there american foxes that are especially active at this time of the year. Our heroes did not even suspect how curious and rare the sight will open to them in this place.
At some point, Kevin and Zachary actually noticed the fox. The red cheat caught the rabbit and, apparently, was heading in it in its hole. Suddenly an eagle dived from the sky, which unceremoniously clawed at someone else’s prey and lifted it into the air. The most amazing thing is that the fox fought for a long time rabbit flying with an eagle a considerable distance. TO Unfortunately, the bird of prey was stronger than the fox, and prey went to in the end it is the eagle.
Ebi and Hartier, as professional photographers, immediately appreciated the full value of such a dramatic scene, but because safely captured it in the photo and video.
The behavior of an eagle is a great example of kleptoparasitism – forcible appropriation by one animal of food of another. Similar parasitic “hunting”, by the way, is a common strategy for bald eagle. It is noteworthy that for this reason President Benjamin Franklin did not want to recognize the white-headed eagle national bird of the USA, that is, make it a symbol of the country (as you call a ship, so it is …) Unfortunately, no one listened. Well, and what came of it? ..
