New Jersey resident Carl Sabatino still can’t believe what treasure he discovered two years ago under a sewing machine his aunt, who lived in New York.

Dying in 2015, the elderly Jenny Verastro reported to his nephew, so that he, by all means, looks under the old device and took to himself what is hidden there. Man and acted, surprised to find under the typewriter a picture that I saw relatives in the house as a child.

It turned out that in 1944 Karl’s uncle Nicky Verastro, being soldier of World War II, acquired this painting from a street a London merchant for just ten dollars. Buyer suspected that the canvas was extracted from a nearby picture galleries, shortly before this bombed and plundered.

Art historians note that the work is very similar to original “Woman in a Cape” hanging today in the Art Cleveland Museum. Sabatino turned to an appraiser of works art to Richard Buly to learn more about his find and her communication with the original.

Buley says: “The age of the painting, the materials from which she done, its origin and signature on it indicate that it really the work of pablo picasso. We took a tiny needle paint sample and analyzed it under a microscope. Yes artist used a similar watercolor. But the most amazing thing about this the canvas we found a thumbprint of Picasso. It is significantly increases the value of a masterpiece. ”

A work found under an old sewing machine is being evaluated today at 25-35 million american dollars, but under the hammer it can go for an even larger amount.
