Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia available on many languages, – often criticized for having articles, which its participants write and rule, are very far from ideal and offer to one degree or another false information. Directory contains many inaccuracies, subjectivity, and articles on political and historical themes often impose on users a certain opinion instead of an impartial description of the situation.
The Russian Institute of World History decided to create online reference publication, which will contain much more truthful information than Wikipedia. Directory reportedly will only offer historical articles for now. According to the words Academician Alexander Chubaryan, good historical encyclopedias produced in our country since the days of the USSR. Then, true, they were somewhat ideological, however modern Russian the historical encyclopedia will be deprived of such a flaw.
At first, the Institute of World History wanted to publish an encyclopedia on their own, however, representatives of the Russian military-historical society wanted to join the project, having secured its financing, and now two people are working on the publication respectable organizations. It is known that the encyclopedia will be completed in the next two to three years. At the same time, the authors assure that not a ruble of budget funds for this business will not be spent.
The historical encyclopedia will be virtual, as will Wikipedia. In each article, users will find in it a lot of links to others to make site navigation extremely easy for person. Of course, such a resource is a full replacement for Wikipedia it will not be possible to name, since he will provide information only historical issues. However, it is possible that someday Russia will have its own general Internet encyclopedia, completely devoid of Western propaganda as well as subjectivity and numerous errors of the current Wikipedia. Perhaps such social resource will grow just on the basis of a historical platform and rigorous selection of facts. After all, the encyclopedia is a special online project, although even online shopping requires objectivity and truthfulness from the resource, and here is the world directory!
