In just one past year, tourists from Rome threw into the famous Trevi Fountain almost a half million euros that were recently extracted and, according to an already established tradition, are aimed at charity.
Why do tourists throw money into this fountain? According to legend, everyone who throws a coin with his right hand in the Trevi flowing, standing to the fountain certainly back, he will certainly return to Rome. And who is not wants to return to Italy and once again visit her magnificent the capital ?!
According to the service staff of the fountain, in Trevi mostly throw euro and american dollars, more and more often fall into recently yen and austrian dollars. Coins of other countries, let’s say Russian, you can see here, but very rarely. It is traditionally believed that throwing into the fountain should still Italian coin, that is – the euro at the present time.
True, in the Trevi Fountain his servants find not only money, for some reason people are also throwing medallions here, mainly with images of Virgin Mary and Pope Francis, bracelets, sunglasses, keys, and the last “catch” brought even two false jaws (!).
But in general, from year to year the cash jackpot of the Trevi Fountain is increasing, however, the reason for this is not the increased generosity of tourists, but most likely the notorious inflation that depreciates money in including euro and dollar.
