Children and grandchildren
Rimma, the first child of Yurovsky, was his favorite. As Father, Rimma went headlong into the revolution and successfully advanced in party line. In 1935 she was arrested. Yurovsky loved daughter, but “the party is not mistaken” – and he sacrificed a daughter in the name of revolution.
According to the memoirs of loved ones, Yurovsky almost lost his mind when learned the terrible news of Rimma’s arrest, but never took no attempt to pull her free or at least somehow ease her fate. Rimma Yurovskaya served time in the Karaganda camp, was released in 1946, and remained in a settlement in the South Kazakhstan. Yurovsky did not find all this, the arrest of his daughter actually brought him together to the grave: amid experiences, his peptic ulcer exacerbated stomach and in 1938 he died.
The next in the list of victims can be considered his son. Rear Admiral Alexander Yurovsky was arrested in 1952. Only the death of Stalin saved him from a terrible fate. Alexander Yurovsky was released in March 1953 and was dismissed.
Of course, the Stalinist Gulag is not a sanatorium, but still a daughter, and Yurovsky’s son survived. Grandchildren have a lot of fate sadder. Grandchildren fell from the roof of the barn, died in a fire, etched mushrooms and committed suicide. Girls were dying in infancy. Beloved grandson Anatoly, son of Rimma was found dead in a car.
