The burial place was considered sacred, they tried to go around it side, and if it happened to fall into these places, then the Yakuts necessarily left at the grave some gift, so as not to bring the wrath of the late shaman.
But with the onset of the 20th century, many immigrants appeared in Yakutia from other parts of Russia. Brought up in the spirit of atheism, they do not experienced reverence and reverence for the ancient graves, considering this a relic. And paid for their arrogance. Do not wake a dead shaman!
At the end of the 50s in the Evenki village of Kubergan Abyisky ulus decided build a runway to tie the forgotten god village with civilization. However, the elderly, learning about the place chosen under construction, not only not happy, but categorically They opposed: “It’s impossible. There is a shaman’s grave nearby.” But the strip is everything It was built.
At the grand opening decided to ride on a plane the kids. Children were put in a car, the plane accelerated, but not took off – the motor broke. The old men said the shaman was just felt sorry for the children. The second plane, too, could not take off. In the evening, the foreman drowned in the river, which the chicken would wade builders. Soon another builder went to hospital with appendicitis and died.
The authorities made the right decision: turned to the elderly with a request propitiate the spirit of a dead man. Old men held a ceremony and brought in the sacrifice of a bull specially designated by the administration for these purposes. AND only after that the shaman calmed down and stopped taking revenge on those who woke up to his people.
Picnic with a tragic end
In the late 60s, a group of archeological students who came to practice from Yakutsk University decided to go relax on the lake. Locals advised not to go, because it stands on the shore Arangas Shaman. But what about the young Komsomol members tales of old people? Eight people went on a picnic.
We got to the lake. Noise, din, fun. Drank and heated went to see the grave with alcohol. Arangas was found quickly. Hot heads suggested looking inside: “In the end, archaeologists are we or not ?! “We didn’t dare, but we didn’t refuse the rest, two they even made a small need there. We returned to the tent and lay down sleep.
At night, they were awakened by a terrible storm. The wind tore the tarp. Outside, someone’s footsteps were heard and a low uterine voice demanded get out of the tent. Two daredevils decided, went around the camp several times, they did not find anyone and returned to the tent. Then I was expecting them a real nightmare: all their comrades were dead, froze on their faces expression of horror. The guys rushed to run and in the morning got to the nearest village.
The guys were dragged for a long time during interrogations, but the prison passed them: by the conclusion of doctors, their comrades died of a heart attack. The locals were not at all surprised at the incident: “It was revenge the shaman. ”
It is forbidden to fly over Arangas
Anna Ivanovna Pavlova (let her Russian name not bother you) was famous shaman. The greatest shaman of Yakutia. Still about her tell legends. And then someone thought of laying an air the track right above her Arangas. Pilot of a helicopter set on this route, after the third flight flatly refused to fly on this route: I won’t be all.
After talking with addiction, he admitted that whenever flies over the shaman’s grave, sees her ghost in the sky. One of colleagues laughed him and volunteered to replace comrade: “Yes, I did not care about this old woman!” In his first flight the car crashed. The pilot survived, but the leadership, not wanting further try your luck, changed the route, paving it “enchanted place.”
Do not anger shamans, even the dead
There are hundreds of similar stories in Yakutia. Sakha, Yukagirs, Evenks believe that with the death of a shaman only his physical body dies, and the spirit remains on the earth, guarding its arangas and sacrilegious attitude to the graves of shamans is not in vain for anyone and always severely punished.
And let the scientists say what they want, but the locals, even from newcomers, behave quietly near the Arangas and always leave small ones coins, sweets, cigarettes – it is better not to quarrel with shamans, even with dead.
